Our Head of Science Jeremy Cusack recently attended the Global Biodiversity Alliance held in Guyana.

He shared with the team that it was impressive to see heads of state, indigenous communities, international NGOs, research institutions, and private actors all unified on the same collective goal: → Conserving 30% of the Earth's land and ocean areas by 2030.

It's quite an ambitious target. We've only got 5 years to go!

Personally, I'm encouraged by the fact that at the highest level, governments around the world are recognising we need to rapidly scale up: • conservation and nature restoration • creative nature financing mechanisms • biodiversity data collection and analysis

Okala is working to support all sectors with our biodiversity monitoring expertise and AI-powered data platform, so that together we can protect Earth’s critical natural resources. We’re very grateful to President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali and the Government of Guyana for the invitation to be part of this inspiring event.
